HOW WE STARTED
KALIEF BROWDER: Remedy Network began after hearing the devastating news of Kalief Browder's suicide in the summer of 2015. Our founder, J. Caleb Perkins, left his corporate job in an effort to begin an organization that would provide young leaders with curated mentorship, equip them for their personal and professional development and decrease the amount of mental health and criminal justice related issues in our city.
WHAT WE DO
The Seven Spheres Of Influence
What we do: Remedy Network hosts promotes criminal justice reform and mental health advocacy by hosting educational talks and events, and by partnering with leading change-making organizations.
Vision Statement: Our vision is to empower the next generation of leaders to be equipped to reach their personal and professional goals, well-rounded in their mental health, and educated in all spheres of societal influence. Our advocacy work envisions a world with fewer prisons, greater mental health services, and a criminal justice system focused more strongly on rehabilitation over retribution.
Mission Statement: Our mission is to empower people by providing tools for personal and professional development, and advocacy for a world with greater racial and socioeconomic justice. Our goal is to serve as a sounding board and early implementer for creative ideas and networking that builds community while catalyzing social change for justice and mental health.
